Kindergarten transition and orientation
Starting a new school is a big step. We're here to help make the transition a smooth and positive experience for every student and their family.
As part of the Kindergarten enrolment process, Minchinbury Public School hosts transition sessions the year before your child is to be enrolled. These sessions will take place before your child's enrolment interview with the Principal.
In these sessions, your child will spend time interacting with other children and teachers. These sessions are designed to help your child get a feel for what school will be like next year, and also help your child's future teachers to start to get to know them.
Details about transition sessions are usually released at the beginning of Term 4 the year before your child's enrolment. Your child will be assigned to a group, and will attend for 1 hour, once a week for 3 weeks. A parent session will also be held in the first week, and will run at the same time as your child's session.
Kindergarten orientation will occur during the first week of the school year. More information about this event will be made available after your child's enrolment interview.
If you have any questions about Kindergarten transition or orientation sessions, please contact us.
